The Studebaker Drivers Club's South Bend Chapter aims to foster a stronger relationship among Studebaker and related car owners in the Michiana area. Our main objective is to encourage the expansion of membership both nationally and locally while assisting the National Studebaker Drivers Club on a local level. We promote the acquisition, preservation, and maintenance of Studebaker vehicles and other related vehicles that were once produced by Studebaker, such as EMF, FLANDERS, GARFORD, ROCKNE, ERSKINE, PIERCE-ARROW, PACKARD, and AVANTI. A monthly newsletter is published by the local chapter to announce upcoming events and other relevant and newsworthy information for the benefit of the members.
Meetings take place on the first Sunday of every month at 1:00 pm at the Studebaker National Museum, located at 201 S Chapin Street, South Bend IN, 2nd-floor boardroom. Check the "events" tab for exact dates.
Studebaker was established in 1852 as a blacksmith shop by two brothers named Henry and Clement Studebaker. When their brother John joined the company, they started manufacturing wagons. Later, with the addition of two more brothers, Jacob and Peter, they shifted their focus to vehicle production. However, the company became defunct in November 1967. Following this, the Studebaker Drivers Club was established as a nationwide movement. Today, it is the largest single marquee car club in the world.
