Treasurer & Newsletter Editor

Karen & Dale Dyer joined the South Bend Chapter in 1988 after acquiring a 1984 Avanti from Avanti Motor Corporation. Upon attending their first chapter meeting in December of 1988 Karen was reluctantly elected treasurer and held the position for the next 8 years. 

In the 36 years in the club, they won a 1960 Lark, the first prize at an International Meet in Oregon.  Next, a 59 Hawk was purchased sight unseen in Kentucky. After some brake work and a few tweaks, it was up and running in the club activities; winning the chapter title “Car of the Year”. Although the Lark and Hawk have since been sold, their 1st love, the Avanti has been passed on to Dale’s son after Dale’s passing in September of 2021. 

Karen continues to be active in the local chapter as the current Newsletter Editor, Treasurer and Swap Meet Vendor Coordinator.

Besides coordinating many parades, picnics and Christmas Banquets, both Dale and Karen have been active in the local chapter holding many titles:
